Hans Tremmel, PE
Platform strategy, PE-stamped engineering delivery, agency relationships.
TEN Developments was built by a licensed civil engineer with 20+ years in the field, not by a software team that studied the problem from the outside. The pain was personal. The solution is specific.
"I wasn't spending time on engineering. I was spending time on translation, moving data between tools that were never designed to speak to each other. I built TEN so engineers can stop translating and start designing."
Hans Tremmel, PE · CEO & Founder
The problem
A single H&H study runs across six disconnected systems. Every handoff is a manual translation. Every revision restarts the loop. Change one parameter, the entire model re-queues. By the time you get output, you've forgotten what you were testing.
Engineers spend most of their project hours assembling inputs, not producing engineering judgment. That's not a skill problem. That's a tool problem.
The legacy stack
Watershed delineation and feature extraction.
Hydraulic simulation. Single desktop, batch mode.
Stormwater and sewer network modeling.
Design and terrain surfaces.
Data aggregation and manual calculations.
Jurisdiction-specific compliance checked manually.
Before the graphing calculator
Slide rules, tables, manual iteration, one variable at a time.
TEN
Instant visualization, test variables on the fly, see impact in real time.
Why we exist
The graphing calculator didn't replace engineers. It freed them. It shifted focus from manual calculation to problem solving, from process to judgment.
TEN Hydrology does the same thing for civil engineering. You select a project area. The platform handles delineation, input curation, jurisdictional compliance, and audit trail. You get output in minutes, not weeks.
Test a variable. See the impact. Test another. That's the work. That's what you went to school for.

Hans spent 20 years delivering regulated water-resources and infrastructure work for public agencies across Southern California: the Marina del Rey Enhanced Watershed Management program, the Padre Dam MWD Siphon Replacement, the SFPUC Green Infrastructure Retrofit, and HydroCalc, the modified rational method calculator now used across all of Los Angeles County.
He built TEN because he lived the inefficiency. He watched himself and his team spend more time matching formats between tools than actually engineering. He wanted to test variables on the fly. He wanted to see how a single change cascaded through the system without re-running the entire model from scratch.
The mission
Civil engineering is one of humanity's oldest disciplines. The bodies of knowledge built over decades are extraordinary. The tools have not kept pace.
The problem is not engineering. The problem is that the engineer spends most of their day managing a tool stack that was designed in the 1980s for a single person, a single desktop, a single project. No version control, no real-time calibration, no jurisdiction-aware compliance, no audit trail, no way to see the impact of a change without rerunning everything.
TEN was built to close that gap. Not by replacing engineering judgment, but by giving it room to work.
The team
100+ years of combined civil engineering, AI/ML, and regulatory experience. The combination of licensed engineering judgment and production-grade software architecture in a single team is deliberate and rare.

Our position
There are a lot of platforms claiming to bring AI to infrastructure. Most of them are wrappers around general-purpose models dressed in engineering language.
TEN was built differently, by people who have signed and stamped drawings, run agency submittals, and sat through county manual reviews.
Common misconceptions
The PE still stamps the drawing. The engineer still makes the call. TEN handles the process so you focus on the judgment.
TEN Hydrology was architected by a licensed engineer who ran the same workflow it replaces. Every design decision traces back to a real project constraint.
Every run is versioned. Every input is traceable. Outputs are permit-ready against your jurisdiction's standards, not generic approximations.
TEN is a purpose-built PaaS with its own GeoAI layer, jurisdiction-aware methodology engine, and GPU-parallel CFD. It fits existing tools. It doesn't imitate them.
Every methodology selection, input assumption, and model run is logged in a vertical audit cross-section. Reviewers see the chain of custody, not just the output.
TEN was built for one domain: H&H design in regulated public-sector environments. The specificity is the point.
Your license means the platform outputs become actionable. Remove the licensed engineer and the platform produces reference data, not deliverables. TEN makes your license worth more.
Work with TEN
TEN Hydrology is in active deployment with public agencies across Southern California. Design partners get direct access to the platform, a dedicated engineering counterpart, and first input on the roadmap.
